Miller's Pond
This weekend I went to Miller's Pond in Middletown. I found more markings on beech trees, which I have photographed before. Markings like this are interesting because they are almost always found on the same type of tree, and were most likely made by two people. The trees almost invite you to carve your mark into their smooth bark, showing off scars from past visitors.

As we were walking back to the car I stopped to take some photos of the late day light coming through the trees. My girlfriend, Krista, commented on the beauty of the scene and asked to see the picture I took, after looking at it, she said what every photographer has always thought and tried to prove wrong, "it never looks as beautiful as the real thing."

Why Sudek
The reason I like Josef Sudek's panoramic work so much is because of the paths many of his images show you. My favorites are of the city streets in Prague, where the image shows multiple streets for your eye to follow. This is probably the biggest influence to me as I am out making panoramas.

Who I've Been Looking At
The first photographs I looked at for this project were Josef Sudek's panoramas of Prague. The panoramas were in his book Prague Panoramica, which is where the name of this blog/journal comes from (just so you know). I was instantly impressed by Sudek's work and inspired me to make more landscapes as panoramas.
The Book
Here are some examples Sudek's work
While searching for these images online, I found this, which is both a good source for some of Sudek's images and interesting.
